ReplyDeleteYep, the pictures with off-camera flash seem to be ambient light and some light from the on-camera flash through the masking tape. They don't register brighter on the side by the strobe and there's no fall-off across the image. I agree that the strobe isn't firing when the shutter is open. Maybe the point and shoot is pre-firing for red-eye reduction?
ReplyDeleteNice idea to make better point and shoot photos!
Very good in picking this up. I had no way to White Balance the camera because it is a point and shoot. This is why the pictures were not of the best coloring. I could have corrected this in post but wanted to show the pics as they came out of the camera. Again thanks for the great comment.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that you're showing us a good technique here, but your example simply did not work.
ReplyDeleteThe sample pictures are all orange because the only light they're getting is from the on-camera flash which is orange because of the masking tape.
The sample pictures all look exactly the same. For whatever reason, your off-camera flash is not firing at the right time. Is the off-camera flash in the correct mode?
Thanks everyone I plan on trying a photo shoot with the Mrs and a softbox to see what happens?
ReplyDeleteThanks Flyerhere and please if you buy any of the items use my Amazon link on my web site. Thanks for the kind comment!
