Im looking for a point and shoot camera for christmas and am not sure what one to get. the only thing is it has to be under 200 dollars. preferably 150-170 range. any ideas?

My preference is for Nikon or Canon, but there are many other good cameras out there. If you go to Cnet.com you can search by manufacturer, price, etc. and read professional reviews as well as reviews owners have written. You can search for the best online price and the online merchants are given reliablity ratings, as well. There really is no substitute for seeing the camera, holding it in the store and going through the various functions and menus to see if it fits your needs, is easy and intuitive to use, etc.
