A good viewfinder is hard to find these days, since few of the cheaper cameras have eye-level finders. Beyond that, every manufacturer would hope to fulfil your criteria from about £120 upwards.
What do you think? Answer below!
There are tons of choice depending on your needs. But if you're not planning to become a photographer, then the new sony nex (either the 5 or 3) would be alright.
ReplyDeleteI personally use an LX3 for my point and shoot, but it has limited zoom range.
If you want smaller size then the canon s90 would probably suit you
For a pocket size, I recommend Sony DSC-T50.
ReplyDeleteFor a bit bigger - medium-sized: Canon Powershot A710 IS
They all have 6-7 MP, which are pretty enough for most uses. Excellent pictures according to consumer reports, have image stabilizer, easy to use, large LCD screens. Fast shutter & next-shot response (less lag).
About batteries, I am not sure you exactly want built-in rechargeable batteries or not. The Cannon you can use rechargeable AA batteries, and using AA has a good advantage of battery replacement on the fly, no need to plug in all the time, just have a pair spare.
The Sony is tiny, so it uses its own rechargeable.
If you insist on built-in, then instead of the Canon, you can try Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2.
You also mentioned view finder, do you really mean the actual optical view finder similar to old film cameras? I thought you meant the LCD screen.
Anyway, all these 3 models have it. But many pocket-sized cameras don't have it, to save space.
Hope I have helped.
This 7.1 megapixel digicam has a 6X image-stabilized optical zoom and a nice 2.5 inch LCD display. It has an ISO range up to 800 and uses AA batteries (you can get the rechargeable ones) and takes an SD memory card. Weight is onlt 7.4 oz. A handy go-anywhere camera! Not too expensive either.
ReplyDeleteyou can consider Canon PowerShot SD960IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

I’d recommend the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS
ReplyDeleteImage stabilizer - yes.
Rechargable Battery - yes.
Good viewfinder - yes.
The biggest problem I’ve had with tiny point and shoot cameras is that most often the photos that come out are blurry -- this is because on most point and shoots, they are too small and light to hold steadily and still come out well. With Image Stabilization, you don’t need to worry. It has a huge LCD screen on the back, and also a eye viewfinder which helps if there’s just too much light.
