Difference between Point & Shoot vs dSLR Cameras






Even though point & shoot cameras are becoming more advanced & can pack a ton of features, you still won't get the quality & ability to upgrade like you can ...

I am gonna have a new grandbaby in nov and i would love to start taking pics.. i have been wanting to get a good DSLR Camera for a long time but was scared of using it.But i have been looking alot at Nikon . Nikon has a new point and shoot COOLPIX L820 out but i really want something that i could maybe start doing this on the side as a job.. just taking baby pics maybe weddings . can u please help me out the DSLR Camera are alotof money but well worth i think .

I have Point Shoot Camera of Panasonic DMC-FZ50,But i went to have a digital camera but sales man bluffs me.now it is got 35-420 zoom which is good with the lense of LEICA.DC VARIO ELMARIT 1:2.8-3.7 / 7.4 - 88.8 ASPH.I want to sell this camera and buy a DSLR...Tell me how can you assist me on this.I am ok with the result of this camera but need more clear and custom photos,In this camera even shutter controlled by electronic even its sound!.

  3. Also there are mirrorless cameras now that aren't point and shoots and are just as good as beginner dslrs.

  5. Thanks so much! How wide are you looking for? With a crop sensor on the T1I I would suggest a Canon 24mm f/2.8 if you're looking for a substantially wide lens :)

  8. Hello! I have had both & personally prefer Canon. I prefer Canon because I like their prime lens selection better, and feel like the colors Canon captures are more flatting for skin tones & portraits. I also like that entry-level Canon dSLR's, such as their Rebel series, work seamlessly with Canon professional lenses, whereas my Nikon entry-level camera wouldn't work properly with an upgraded lens- the autofocus feature didn't work :( boo
