I looked on the Sony website and there are on filters shown as an accessory for that camera.

You can take your camera into a proper camera shop and see if there are any filter threads on its lens or if you can buy an adapter.

That is mostly untrue. The DSC H70 (as with most P&Ses) doesn't have a screw-on ring or other mounting system for filters. That shouldn't stop you from simply holding a filter in front of the lens, though. The camera *does* have a built-in 2-stop neutral density filter, not that it helps much.

Filters in general aren't very useful in digital photography, since image editors can do much more. Polarizers are one exception, since they can block glare or reflections. Close focus and fisheye lens filters are the other big exception, since they can increase focus range or field of view. (Most cameras already have built-in macro mode, making close focus filters useless.) UV/Clear filters are useful on DSLR lenses as a protective measure. Filters were much more important for film photography, where there was an actual cost for producing copies, and getting the shot right the first time was much more important.

About the only useful accessories to get for a P&S are extra batteries, memory cards, and a carrying case.
