What is a good compact, point and shoot camera?

Question by <3: What is a good compact, point and shoot camera?
I am looking for a compact, point and shoot digital camera. I would use the photos from the camera mainly to upload to facebook. Also, the cheaper (for a good quality camera), the better. What is a good camera for me?

My favorite point-and-shoot that I EVER owned was the one I got recently at Costco..its the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1. It is amazing. The color and the quality of pictures is stunning...considering its just a point-and-shoot! It's compact and super easy to function and comes with a number of pre-set options. You can also manually adjust settings. I strongly recommend this camera!!

  1. Not enough info. How much ya spending, you want big cameraor small, fully auto, or do you want to set shutter speeds yourself?

  2. It's hard to top the Panasonic Lumix line for quality and value. For example

    http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-FH1-Digital-Stabilized-2-7-Inch/dp/B00395Y9J6/ref=sr_1_12?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1298416095&sr=1-12

    It also takes HD video.

  3. You can consider nikon Coolpix S8100 12.1 MP CMOS Digital Camera

12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor for high-speed operation and low-light performance
    10x wide-angle optical Zoom-Nikkor ED glass lens
    3-inch Ultra-High Resolution (921,000-dot) Clear Color Display
Full HD (1080p) Movie with Stereo and HDMI Output
Capture images and video to SD/SDHC memory cards (not included)
