Which point and shoot camera can make the best pictures?

Question by Nickname: Which point and shoot camera can make the best pictures?
Im looking for point and shoot camera for wife for traveling and party- family-occasionally. Most important is good pictures. Which point and shoot camera can make best pictures ?

I really love my canon G10. It's a bit pricey but takes excellent pictures.

    I recommend the Canon S95 or the Canon G12. The G12 is bulkier, the S95 is smaller. Both can take HD video too. These are nice, high quality compact point and shoot digital cameras.
